What Is a Limited Edition Print?
A limited edition print is produced in a fixed, predetermined quantity. Each print is numbered individually — “1 of 10,” “2 of 10,” and so on. Once the edition reaches its cap, no additional prints are produced from that image at that size. The edition is permanently retired.
Why 10 Editions?
An edition of 10 provides genuine scarcity — small enough that ownership is rare, large enough that the work can reach significant collections. At the highest price point (40×60″, $4,500), selling all 10 produces $45,000 from a single image at a single size. With multiple sizes per image, the economics of limited editions at this edition size are compelling for both photographer and collector.
